Direct Construction Company Limited helps to refurbish Ramsden Park Rink

Toronto-based, Direct Construction Company Limited has recently completed a renovation project that upgraded the Ramsden Park Rink in Toronto. The unveiling of the refurbished rink was attended by various dignitaries, including Mayor David Miller, and representatives from Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment (MLSE), the MLSE Team Up Foundation and RONA. Part of the celebration included an outdoor practice by the Toronto Maple Leafs, who thrilled local school children and Leafs fans.

An investment of more than $200,000 enabled several improvements to the rink, including replaced dasher boards, a repaired entrance ramp and stairs to the rink; and the addition of new doors, windows, storage, matting, benches and landscaping features. The Direct Construction Company Team was joined by employees from MLSE and RONA, who contributed 320 volunteer hours towards the project.

"It's particularly gratifying to be involved in a project that is the centre of a community and that will be enjoyed by both children and adults for several years to come,” says Frank Cecchetto, President of Direct Construction Company Limited. “The project was completed on a tight deadline, so I’m very proud of all of our employees who helped turn the vision for a new Ramsden Park Rink into reality."

For 20 years, Direct Construction Company Limited has provided maintenance, renovations and construction services to the City of Toronto, large property development corporations and national retail chains across Canada. The company is a strong supporter and sponsor of several youth sports teams, including the Scarborough Penguins hockey team.
